In this post, I’m breaking down how I did it…
… And the dark-side of high ticket affiliate products THEY don’t want you to know about…
(ohhhhhhh)
Let’s go!
I climbed on top this rock here to the middle of this pond, overlooking the Matterhorn Mountain.
People were yelling at me to get down because I was in their shots.
I decided to assert my dominance by taking a nap right there on that rock. Haha.
Anyways…
High Ticket Affiliate Marketing is when you earn commissions by selling high priced products.
These products can range anywhere between $1,000 even up to $100,000!
Commissions can range from anywhere between $500 up to several thousand dollars per sale.
That means just a handful of sales a month could equal a full-time online income.
More on that in just a second.
First…
Let’s dissect an important question.
And the answer is:
Yes and no.
Let me explain.
If you do a product review on a high-ticket item… say… this $1600 ebike
Vs a low-ticket item – a $50 hand vacuum.
And someone finds your blog or video by typing in “[product] review”.
The actual conversion rate won’t be that much different if you own the item, and you can do a thorough review on it.
Watch video for example.
See my video on this page where I compare keywords for high ticket affiliate products.
It’s about the same amount of work, in other words.
The proven tactic of creating a blog, some videos targeting product review keywords is an easy few thousand a month when ranked.
But what if you want to do volume?
What if you want to hit larger paydays like we got in this case study?
Well, here’s the deal.
It takes some extra skill and process to successfully sell high ticket items WHEN THEY AREN’T searching product review keywords.
Example
You’re trying to sell a $100 photography course that yields $50 in commission. You lead your viewer with a nice video explaining the top 10 ways to get better natural sunlight in your photos.
With low ticket products – it’s as simple as creating a simple video or a quick ad and sending it right to the vendor sale page.
You don’t really have to be an expert marketer to pull it off.
With high ticket – you gotta do more.
Let’s say Bob is scrolling YouTube watching Andrew Tate trolling videos…
It’s going to be very difficult for you to sell Bob on a $5,000 bag of golf clubs unless you send him through a sophisticated process.
Very few people spend $5K on a whim.
Prospects need to be warmed up… they need to trust you… they need to deeply understand how the product you are promoting is the absolutely best solution to the problem they have.
Doing all of this takes time.
Often, I will create long form webinars and long form videos to promote affiliate offers.
Like for example, this is a presentation I put together for a product called AmpiFire. In a nutshell, it gets you SEO rankings, backlinks, and traffic.
(See video on this page for the example)
It works well, and you can see the video ran for almost 2 hours long.
But here’s the thing.
Only 5-10% of people end up buying right there on the spot after spending 2 hours on a presentation for something at even at a lower priced high-ticket product of $1000.
That’s why it’s important to have several video follow-ups and email follow-ups.
Here’s a sequence for a $1000 product I sell:
After a webinar, attendees are presented with several follow up videos that increase the educational value I provide and also continue to promote the product I want to sell.
I even offer a second webinar with even more content and promotion of the same product!
Yes 2 webinars promoting the same product!
Because it often can take 10-20 touch points (emails, videos) over a month period before someone finally decides to buy.
It takes more work, but it is worth it when you crack the code. This is the secret to breaking the 7-figure mark online.
More tips coming up.
If you want to dive deep on this concept, take my free affiliate marketing workshop now.
Another thing you can do to juice up your conversions is to put together a small bonus package for the product.
What I’ll typically do is offer a few bonuses that complement the product. If you do this right and position your bonus package so that it’s perceived (and actually is) even more valuable than the product they are actually buying. This can dramatically increase your sales.
Just to give you some examples:
If the product you’re promoting as an affiliate is a software, you can put together a small training course and case studies on how the use the software to get even better results.
You can even put together a small software to compliment it to improve results further.
Example.
We did this with this promotion which I estimate helped us double our sales.
Often, if you’re feeling particularly lazy, you can negotiate with the vendor and ask them if they can sweeten the pot for your customers by providing some extra bonuses for you.
Most professional vendors are more than willing to do this if you ask.
Now we’ve covered the good, but I specifically wanted to make this a section in the video today because it’s important.
High ticket product vendors can sometimes be sketchy. Borderline scam-like.
Take a look at some offers on Offervault (Watch video on this page to see a breakdown).
But in the past, I’ve seen products that pay out unrealistic CPAs (Cost per acquisitions) … only to find out on the backend they are doing really unethical practices…
There’s this one binary option product I specifically recalled…
Where they worked backend deals with option websites to where if they got customers to deposit $X amount of money, they’d get a special payout.
So the product creators went through all kinds of unethical marketing tactics of convincing the customers the money was guaranteed, that they couldn’t lose anything and to upload $10k to the websites and run the options.
Turns out it was just a big gambling scheme and lots of people lost money.
Another example is M*BE – We talked about this in my previous video about affiliate marketing scams.
Some of their packages were in the $30,000 range, and unscrupulous salespeople convinced unqualified customers to take out loans on credit cards to pay for their mastermind coaching.
Some people allegedly tapping into their retirement funds to attend.
This kind of stuff can ruin lives, so make sure you do your due diligence to uncover any shady practices on the potential product you are promoting.
That’s all for today.
